kakskukaks - 22.

Monday, dreaded monday. My longest school day of the week. 8-4, ugh. I start out with art, which I love, so it's a nice start at least. The teacher however, seems to always forget that Houie and I speak english, and after she goes on a twenty minute rant in finnish, she just sits down at her desk and does who knows what. So Houie and I sit for about fifteen minutes waiting for her to remember that we don't understand finnish...but that day would never come, so I got up and asked her to explain what she had just said. She gladly did and we're now on our way with yet another new project. After art I have gym with Annina, Anu, and Saana. Today we did aerobics, they were fun but after the first forty five minutes I was dead. And yet we continued non stop for the full hour and a half. Gosh, I'll tell you one thing, I know why finns are in such good shape, it's not because they eat better, it's because they actually work. Its insane. After our intense work out we had lunch, which was really good today, some mashed potatoes and meat thing, but it was really yummy. After lunch I had an hour of music, we had to like make up sounds for a Pink Floyd music video, but we weren't allowed to hear the song, just watch the video. It was weird...And then I had a nice break after music so Annina and I went downtown and bought cinnamon rolls from, get this, "Spinni: The real american cinnamon roll." I kept the box :] They were delicious though ! And then we went to this cute little artsy fartsy store that is stocked full of the cutest post cards ever. I'm definitly buying some to send home, its cheaper too ! Ugh, and then we had to go back to school where I got to endure an hour and a half of spanish finnish, spinnish as I've come to call it. Partly because it makes sense, and partly because it sounds like spinach, which I don't hate, but I don't particularly love either...I mean, I love studying spanish, I really like the language, but it's become so frustrating when I can't understand my teacher and I always have to have Aino, the girl sitting beside me, translate all of our bookwork. I always feel like a charity case, I'm so excited for my finnish lessons to begin...After school Anna called me and told me she was downtown because of a meeting and could give me a ride home, so that was nice, and a lot faster than the bus trip! When we got home I had to force feed myself a salmon dinner in seven minutes and then Maria and I were picked up by her cousin Saimi and Uncle Olli [oh-lee] for their soccer games. We headed out to the soccer fields about ten minutes from the house. It was about 5 degrees celcius here, aka absolutely freezing. But they were fun none the less, Maria and I have found a passion for calling each other animal names. Basically all we do is repeat the phrase, "you are a/an..." and insert an animal, all in finnish of course. i.e. Sinä on apina means you're an ape. And I've now dubbed Maria as my Sinäpinä, she likes the nickname. Her personal favourite for me is Sinä on iso elefanti, meaning you are a huge elephant, gee thanks Maria. Haha, but it's cute. Her team tied the first game four to four and won the second six to nothing. I have some pictures that I will post at the end of this blog, they're cute :] And that was my day, quite full, but full of adventure :] ahah, how cheesy....I sent a package home on saturday mom and dad, let me know when it arrives !

One of my favorite girls on the team is the one in blue, Matleena. [maw-t-lay-nuh]
