kolkytkolme - 33

Well today started off well, I woke up on time :] My bus ride to school was a bit slower than usual, we hit all the wrong lights. My day started off with P.E. today, Annina told me yesterday that the teacher had told us we were going to be running around the lake and to dress warmly. Taking extra precaution because I was just beginning to get better, I wore leggings, sweats, underarmour, a shirt, and my big coat, I felt like a microwave. We were given the option of walking as well, so majority of us did. We walked alllll the way around the lake of Jyväskylä, about 11 km in all, it was so pretty. We went over two huge bridges, including the one seen in the pictures on Jyväskylä's website, dad should know what I'm talking about. After P.E. I had music and today was concert day. I was sort of dreading it, partly because I still sounded somewhat like a man after being sick, and partly because I don't really enjoy singing in front of my peers, espescially with a microphone. But it was actually a lottt of fun. My group went third and I have to say, we did really well. I don't want to sound stuck up, but I think we were one of the best groups. We sounded [I think] really well rehearsed. We performed Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" and it was buckets of fun. Other groups did Finnish songs, but they were fun to watch as well. My group got a standing ovation :] Anyways, so that was fun. I ran into Piia on my way to lunch and sat waited with her for her friend. Lunch was good, vegetable soup and fruits. And of course, our personal favourite, rye bread. I was then done with classes for the day but I had Finnish lessons in less than two hours so I couldn't go home. Luckily I ran into Chet shortly after and we went to the IT [computer] lab and worked on some of our Finnish homework. At ten 'til two we started our walk to the University. The lessons today were fun, although sort of repetitive, but it's been really helpful. I can say a lotttt about myself now, I'll post it at the end of this. I sat next to a man from Sambia today, his name was Chris, he was pretty cool, there's also another new girl in our class, but I forget where she's from. After Finnish lessons I went over to the Mormon church for Chill Night ! It was actually a lot of fun, we played Imagine If...the board game, in finnish ! Then everyone left to run errands, so Casey, Jason, Annina, and I were the only ones left so we decided to play the "sentence picture game". It doesn't really have a name, but basically each person starts with their own paper and writes a sentence. It can be about anything. Then, every one passes their papers to the right and you then read the sentence the person to your left had just written and you draw a picture about it. Then you fold the paper so that only your picture is showing and pass it again to the right, then you have to write a sentence about that picture. And this process goes on and on until you reach the end of the paper. Then you unfold it all and read the story outloud. It was really amusing, I encourage you all to play it :] I took the 7 10 bus home and ate a delicious meal, casserole and bread. I watched the last half of "Music and Lyrics" and then took a shower. I haven't been to sauna in ages, I always seem to sort of forget about it, I'll have to go tomorrow. And just now, while writing this, I found a hugeeee spider on my arm and I don't think I'll be able to fall asleep any time soon...great...Anyways, have a wonderous night !

Here's my finnish so far: "Moi, mun nimi on Jocelyn. Mä oon Amerikkalainen ja kotoinsin Washingtonsta. Mä puhun englantia ja espanja, mutta mä opiskelien suomela yliopistosta. Minulla oon 16 vuota ja mä oon opiskelija Jyväskylän Lyseon Lukiossa." Hi, my name is Jocelyn. I am American and I am from Washington. I speak english and spanish, but I am studying finnish in the University. I am 16 years old and I am a student in Jyväskylän Lyseon Lukio.
